Blog Tour: Odd Bird by Lee Farnsworth

Today I'm excited to be taking part in the blog tour for Odd Bird by Lee Farnsworth. Thanks to Farrago Books for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a review!

Simon Selwood is an academic expert on the monogamous sexual behaviour of birds, but hopeless at finding human love. Then he meets Kim, and at last something is more important to him than ornithology.

Kim doesn’t give a hoot about birds. And at first she isn’t very interested in Simon either. Relying on what he has gleaned from observing the opportunistic pied flycatcher and other species, plus the unorthodox advice of old friend Phil, Simon sets out on a mission to discover love for himself.

But will he make the right choice?

Odd Bird takes a light-hearted look at the battle of the sexes, drawing on the surprising parallels between the courtship behaviours of humans and birds.

REVIEW
I really enjoyed this book. It's a rom-com from the male perspective, a refreshing change in the genre. Simon is a lovely character who I really rooted for. His knowledge of birds is second to none and I actually learnt quite a lot from him. Be prepared for a lot of lingo and interesting facts. Simon longs to find his own pair-bond, his mate for life, but whilst he is an expert in avian behaviour, human attitudes to love and relationships are a bit more complicated. And so begins Simon's quest to find 'the one'. It may just be that humans and birds aren't that different after all.

Romance aside, I loved Simon's relationship with his best friend  and 'wingman' Phil. He and Phil couldn't be more different - Phil is much more of a 'bloke' - yet they worked together brilliantly, and their banter made me smile.

Odd Bird is a quirky, heartwarming read, exactly what I need at the moment. If you liked The Rosie Project then you'll love this!

Check out the other bloggers taking part in the tour for more content and reviews of this brilliant book!
