Review: Last Chance Books by Kelsey Rodkey

Happy publication day to Last Chance Books by Kelsey Rodkey! This is a fun, cute YA rom-com set in the world of bookselling - what's not to love!?

Books And Moore, Madeline’s family business, is struggling to stay afloat - no thanks to Prologue, the shiny new book store that has opened just across the street. Madeline is determined to save the store as she dreams of managing it herself one day. So when she finds out that her new favourite customer Jasper Hamanda actually works for the enemy she vows to take him, and Prologue, down.  If only Jasper wasn’t so attractive...

Last Chance Books is The Hating Game meets You’ve Got Mail. It’s a sparkling rom-com full of witty dialogue and adorable moments. The hate-to-love trope is done brilliantly with Jasper and Madeline - their rivalry feels genuine and I loved the pranks they pulled on each other. But this book is also so much more than its central romance - Madeline has her fair share of family drama to contend with too as her estranged mother arrives back on the scene. The book has a wonderful cast of characters, from all the quirky employees of Books and Moore to Madeline and Jasper’s friends and families. I particularly loved Madeline’s best friend Zelda who was a force to be reckoned with.

Last Chance Books is a heartwarming story that I would heartily recommend to book lovers everywhere.
